At Bird Dog, we make all our sauces from scratch, in-house, every day. Each sauce we make is allergen-free and there is ABSOLUTELY NO WATER ADDED. We have three rules about BBQ sauce:
- It should be offered on the side—we like to think of it as an option, not a requirement
- It should have the consistency similar to ketchup. BBQ sauce should sit on top of the meat and resist running off. Runny, watery sauces drip off the meat and can cause soggy sandwiches.
- It should compliment the products upon which it is used and ideally it should tie all product flavors together. In many BBQ restaurants, the sauces have a tendency to confuse the taste buds. It is important to us, not only to ensure that each product is of high quality, but also that those products have flavors that blend well when plated. Our sauces have been developed with that in mind and we take great care to ensure that they enhance and compliment the flavor profiles in all our products.
Mild BBQ Sauce—With loads of visible spices and a thick, smooth consistency, it’s not too tangy, it’s not too sweet…this one is just right
Hot BBQ Sauce—Our hot sauce mimics the mild but we add a special chili sauce that creates an amazing flavor along with just the right amount of after-burn
Extra-Hot BBQ Sauce—This one is kept behind the counter. We don’t boast that it’s the hottest sauce around…that is not the point. The flavor still has priority over the level of spiciness
Wasabi-Q Sauce—Bird Dog’s very own creation, this sauce combines the amazing flavor of wasabi with our standard mild sauce to offer something truly unique in the BBQ industry. The wasabi grabs your attention with an immediate nasal burn that lets you off the hook just in time to take your next bite. Be careful, this one is addicting
